How to use Delectra to remove Electra Jailbreak

So, it would surprise the vast majority to know that the Electra Toolkit is not a full jailbreak, but rather an iOS development toolkit designed for use by tweak and theme developers for testing purposes.

This, however, did not stop some enthusiasts from loading it and trying it out, bugs and all. In this article, we will outline a step-by-step guide on how to use Delectra to remove the Electra jailbreak and perhaps give you back some peace if bugs on your jailbroken iOS device plague you, or if maybe you want to run Fortnite.

Since Delectra activates the uninstall script in Electra, it will only work to remove versions of Electra Jailbreak earlier than Electra RC1. This is because the uninstall script is missing in all versions after RC1.

Before running the script, you must also remove Cydia installer and all user-installed tweaks from your device. Then, proceed with removing Electra jailbreak by following the steps below:

Step 1: Download Delectra script, developed by KirovAir from GitHub. The delectra script is a custom uninstall script that thoroughly cleans the device, unjailbreaking it in the process, but it does not remove files. This is why you need to ensure that you have completely removed all your installed jailbreak tweaks before running the script.

Step 2: Using an archive manager, such as WinZip or 7Zip, extract the .zip package and place the ‘’ shell script to a safe, easily accessible place on your PC.

Step 3: Connect your phone to your PC (you can use WinSCP for this task) and transfer the ‘’ shell script into the root folder (/) of your iOS device.

Step 4: Launch Putty on the PC, or iTerminal on the iOS device and establish an SSH connection using the details outlined below:

  • You can input anything in the ‘Nickname’ field
  • Host Name: Input your WiFi IP address
  • Port: Use 2222
  • Username: root
  • Password: alpine

Step 5: Once you successfully launch the terminal, execute the following command to uninstall the Electra jailbreak RC from your iOS device completely: ‘bash/’

That’s it! Executing the above script will remove the Electra jailbreak from your iOS device and revert it to an unjailbroken state.

Hopefully, this guide on how to remove the Electra jailbreak using Delectra has been helpful in getting you out of a jailbreak snag. You can check out more jailbreak guides, right here on the site.
